SAVE THE DATES - December 6-8, 2019 - Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree, CA
The last few years have proven challenging for many of us within the worldwide Ashtanga Yoga community. The #metoo allegations and its aftershocks have brought us to our knees, and asked us to look deep to the core of why we practice, why we teach, and what we have to share. After the reckonings, rifts and realizations, we feel called to summon our community of Ashtanga Yoga kin for a weekend of healing and connection in the Southern California Desert.
We’ve chosen to stay quiet on the public domain about this topic, but have had a number of deep and meaningful in-person conversations with those who've asked. We believe that these conversations are important and necessary work, and we will continue to hold space for them, but this is work that cannot be done in the fractious space of social media platforms.
This December we will gather in the spirit of understanding and compassionate loving-kindness for practice and discussions to re-imagine new, non-hierarchical ways to move forward, collectively, as fellow practitioners. All fanfare left at the door with the shoes. A simple coming together, a time of contemplating, reflecting. Email us to stay in the loop.
